meet allie
Allie first began practicing yoga at Yoga, Core & More when she was in high school circa 2012 after attending a class with her mother, who had a love at first breath to movement response. Allie didn’t quite have that same love at 16, realizing that hot yoga meant having to wash her hair after every class she took. Nonetheless, she found herself drawn to the movement of the practice and continuing to come back as a way to sweat, maintain her gymnastics & cheerleading flexibility, make some quality friends at the studio, grow in her relationship with her mama and eventually…appreciate the silence & space yoga brought into her daily chaotic life.
After going away, never too far from home, to college and graduate school (University of Illinois ’17 & University of Missouri ’19), Allie found a genuine need for yoga in her life to find mindfulness and “catch” her breath and began to really get back into her practice. While in Columbia, she dove into her practice and was able to see her mindset and life shift in a positive, more intuitive and independent direction. Not only was she achieving growth in her physical practice, but she also became aware of mental + emotional shifts. Allie always felt a deep connection to her yoga community at Yoga, Core, & More (now, Moonbird) and made the decision to complete her RYT 200 at Yoga Core & More’s Yoga School in January 2020. Allie offers her students a workout, but also a work-in by integrating movement & breath to an upbeat sequence & fun playlist. Allie has a background in working with college & professional athletes and particularly loves to find the balance between movement & stillness for all of her students. Her teaching style is a power vinyasa sequence with unique transitions and poses guaranteed to make you sweat & stretch to your edge.
When she’s not working or on her mat, Allie is more than likely with her family, including family dog, Izzy, at a football game, shopping at lululemon or Nordstrom, or traveling the world.
